Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

ByteXcel ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This policy explains what information we collect through bytexcel.com and our client engagements, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Contact & inquiry data: When you submit our contact form, book a call, or email us, we collect your name, email address, company name, the service you're interested in, and any message you provide.

Project data: If you engage us for a project, we collect information necessary to deliver the work — this may include business requirements, credentials you grant us scoped access to, and any data your application processes, as defined in your project agreement.

Usage data: Like most websites, we automatically collect basic technical information — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referral source — to understand how the site is used and to keep it secure.

2. How We Use Your Information

To respond to inquiries and follow up on discovery calls.

To scope, deliver, and support engineering work under a signed agreement.

To send project-related communication (invoices, status updates, deployment notices).

To improve our website and services based on aggregate usage patterns.

We do not use your contact information for unsolicited marketing, and we never sell personal information to third parties.

3. Client Project Data & Source Code

Code, credentials, and business data shared with us during an engagement are treated as confidential by default, whether or not a separate NDA is signed. Access is limited to the engineers actually staffed on your project.

Repository access, API keys, and infrastructure credentials are scoped to what's needed for the engagement and revoked at project close unless a support agreement says otherwise.

We do not reuse a client's proprietary code, data, or business logic on other engagements.

4. Data Security

We apply industry-standard practices to protect the information entrusted to us: encrypted connections (TLS) for data in transit, access control on a least-privilege basis, unique credentials per engineer (no shared logins), and removal of access when a project or team member's involvement ends.

For full transparency: ByteXcel is not currently certified under formal frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA. If your project has compliance requirements that depend on a specific certification, tell us during scoping so we can confirm whether we're the right fit or bring in the right safeguards for that engagement.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we treat client and visitor data the way we'd want our own treated.

5. Cookies & Analytics

Our website may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are visited, in aggregate). We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell browsing data.

6. Sharing With Third Parties

We don't sell or rent personal information. We may share data with service providers who support our operations — for example, email delivery, hosting, or payment processing — under confidentiality obligations, and only to the extent needed for them to perform that service.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ByteXcel, our clients, or others.

7. Data Retention

Inquiry and contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond and follow up, or until you ask us to delete them. Project-related data is retained per the terms of your engagement agreement, and typically deleted or returned at project close unless you've asked us to retain it for ongoing support.

8. Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop processing it, by emailing hello@bytexcel.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
